Called To Excellence
Bible Verse:
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).
Message:
The Apostle Peter, in 2 Peter 1:3, reveals a powerful truth: God has called us to a life of glory and virtue—a life of excellence. This means that as believers, we are called to live above mediocrity, poverty, and sickness. Our life of excellence is not a future promise to be fulfilled in heaven; it is our present reality, here and now.
The Amplified Classic translation of 2 Peter 1:3 highlights that through our knowledge of God, His divine power has already bestowed upon us everything we need for life and godliness. We don’t have to strive for excellence; we have been called to it. There’s no place for an ordinary life when you are God’s chosen and special possession.
1 Peter 2:9 AMPC further reinforces this truth: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” You are chosen to manifest God’s excellence and display His virtues to the world.
Never underestimate your worth or think less of yourself. Wherever you go, remember that you are born for excellence, and excellence is your destiny. In every area of life, you are empowered to manifest excellence and bring glory to God.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your life and nature in my spirit, and the life of excellence that I have in Christ Jesus. You’ve made my life beautiful, and you’ve enabled me to be an effective witness and representative of your Kingdom, showing forth your praises, and illuminating the dark places of the earth with the light of the glorious Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
